My first grade teacher, Mrs. Leisimyer, has been a huge inspiration to me and has changed my life. She is encouraging, patient, and kind to everyone. When I look at her in my pictures, I remember her sparkling smile trying to make everyone around her happy. She always fills with excitement when I do something to my best ability, making me want to try hard and continue accomplishing her goals set for me. This encouragement has helped me greatly so far in school and will continue to push me hard.
To start off, she always “builds everyone up,” and boosts your confidence level like an airplane taking off. You start on the ground and then you keep going up. Mrs. Leisimyer, took each one of her students and pulled their strengths and weaknesses out of them. All of my classmates knew what they were capable of and what they needed to work on when they got to her class. I became extremely confident in myself when she showed me my literacy skills. I raised my hand more often, and volunteered to do many things for my teacher. This made me my confident self today. I would always come home having to tell my parents something new I learned about myself, not necessarily something to do with academics. From that year on, I went to school with pride and always dreaded not coming. Mrs. Leisimyer helps each one of her student a lot no matter how difficult it can become.
Second, Mrs. Leisimyer pushes everyone to their best ability. For example, I got all A’s, or 4’s at that time, for a trimester and she awarded me with a stuffed cow. I still have it now and when I glance at it, I remember her and my accomplishments achieved in her class. She had some high expectations for every one of her students; however, this led to outstanding scores on tests and a very ecstatic year. Our class kept growing with skills as she taught and we became a very strong team.
Last, she was one of the most loving people I have ever met. Over her high standards, you can see her hilarious sense of humor and her kind personality. She showed everyone not to be a bully, and none of us take that role now. She was always patient with us, no matter how loud and buggy we became, she never lost her temper and yelled at us. I knew I could always trust her and tell her my problems. She had actually helped me with most of them and made my life easier. I want people to be able to trust me as I go on in life like I trusted her.
Mrs. Leisimyer has been the largest inspiration in my life and I don’t know where I would be standing today without her encouragement. She has boosted my confidence level gargantuanly and made me someone. I will always remember her hardworking personality, always trying to push me to make myself better. She has many great characteristics that I would like to hold some day. I want people to look up to me and see me as a role model some day like I see her.
